Memory guy has tips for remembering
10/11/2013, 6 a.m.
“The Memory Man” Gilbert Sherr will offer pointers on getting the most out of your brain as you age on Oct. 17 in Stone Mountain.
Sherr will speak about training your brain and improving your memory at free 90-minute workshops in the Park Springs Clubhouse, 500 Springhouse Circle off Bermuda Road.
They take place at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Sherr, who is based in Atlanta, says that as we age, our brains will slow down in speed and processing time. While aging is a good excuse, it’s a poor reason for forgetfulness.
“Both physical and mental exercises can help improve one’s memory,” he said. “Physical exercise gets the heart pumping, and stimulating the mind with reading or learning new information are just some of the ways to keep one’s memory healthy and alive.”
