Classic movie and Medicare information for seniors
9/10/2013, 9:18 a.m.
ATLANTA Seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries can watch black movie classics and get lots of information about their health care coverage on Sept. 11 at Pittman Park Recreation Center.
Attendees can get their Medicare questions answered before the Medicare Open Enrollment Period begins on Oct. 15. A local UnitedHealthcare representative will offer information about Medicare basics (Parts A-D), eligibility requirements and enrollment periods.
“Cabin in the Sky,” the 1943 Academy Award-nominated musical starring Lena Horne, Ethel Waters and Eddie “Rochester” Anderson, will be screened during the 10 a.m. event. Anderson plays a compulsive gambler who dies during a shooting, but receives a second chance to reform himself.
The Sept. 11 event is the last in a two-part free classic series that’s being held in Atlanta to celebrate classic black films.
Pittman Park Recreation Center is at 950 Garibaldi St. S.W. For more information, contact Fiona Roberts, email@example.com; or 678-313-2764.
