ART Station to celebrate grand reopening
9/20/2013, 6 a.m.
STONE MOUNTAIN Patrons of the newly refurbished ART Station can enjoy Lowcountry cuisine and barbecue and live music at the Sept. 28 grand reopening celebration in Stone Mountain Village.
The Big Reveal, which begins at 7 p.m., will showcase the art center’s recent renovations funded by a local foundation.
With the funds, the nonprofit theater added new seating, stage, lighting, electrical improvements, and sound system to the 1913 trolley car station that has been its home for 28 years. A new cabaret theater performance space, a redesigned bar/café area, a new entrance hall, and assembly space in the upstairs gallery also were added.
The “Blue Jeans & Bow Ties” themed event includes foods from Gullah Gourmet in Charleston, S.C.; Atlanta International Foods; and Snead’s Bar B Que.
Three musical groups will play in the Theatre, the Cabaret and the Up Stairs Assembly Hall.
Tickets are $20 per person and include entrance, food and one bar token and are available at ART Station box office, 5384 Manor Drive in Stone Mountain Village, or by calling 770-469-1105.
