Three days of homegoing celebration for Evelyn Lowery

Mourners can pay their respects to SCLC/W.O.M.E.N's founder and president Evelyn Lowery until 9 p.m. today at Cascade United Methodist Church, 3144 Cascade Road in southwest Atlanta.
On Oct. 1, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Kappa Omega Chapter, is hosting an Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. at Clark Atlanta University’s Davage Auditorium, 223 James P. Brawley Drive, SW, in Atlanta.
Lowery's Oct. 2 homegoing celebration begins at 11 a.m. in the King Chapel at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel on the campus of Morehouse College, 830 Westview Drive in southwest Atlanta.
Viewing also takes place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. before the service.
Internment follows at Westview Cemetery, 1680 Westview Drive, in southwest Atlanta.
Mrs. Lowery, 88, died on Sept. 26 after suffering a massive stroke a week earlier.
She was married to civil rights icon Rev. Joseph E. Lowery for 65 years.
