Meet the Candidates and Hear What They Have to Say!”

Leadership DeKalb’s Voter Education Project “It’s for Them, DeKalb” hosts a forum at 7 p.m. for DeKalb School Board districts 2, 3 and 4 at Emory in partnership with the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, DeKalb Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Junior League of DeKalb County, Parents Councils United, and South DeKalb Improvement Alliance with Linda Torrence moderating.

The Tull Auditorium at Emory University School of Law is at 1301 Clifton Road in Atlanta.

DeKalb Sheriff Political Forum

The Stone Mountain/Lithonia and DeKalb chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. host a forum at 6:30 p.m. for the eight candidates seeking the office of DeKalb sheriff at the Stonecrest Library, 3123 Klondike Road in Lithonia. Dale Collins, Ted Golden, Melody Maddox, Melvin Mitchell, and Lasalle Smith Sr. have confirmed their participation. Sidney Wood, host of “The Sidney Wood Show” on WAOK 1380-AM, will be the moderator. Meet the Candidates

The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church; Alpha Phi Alpha Inc., Nu Mu Lambda Chapter; GOTV; and the DeKalb Democratic Party are co-hosting all candidates running in the DeKalb Democratic primary at the Greater Piney Grove at 10 a.m. It is not a debate, but candidates have been asked to submit written responses to questions that will be compiled and distributed to the public at the event. The church is at 1879-1921 Glenwood Ave. S.E. in Atlanta.

Candidate Forum for state, congressional and local races

The Rockdale County Democratic Party, the National Council of Negro Women Inc., Rockdale-Newton Section and the Chi Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. will co-sponsor a forum at 1:30 p.m. for candidates seeking state, congressional and local offices.

It takes place at Antioch AME Church in Conyers, 1790 Ebenezer Road.

Candidates Fair and Forum

The Civic Association Network sponsors a Candidate Forum and Fair for all candidates seeking office in the May 20 primary at the Hellenic Community Center, Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2500 Clairmont Road in Atlanta. It takes place from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.

DeKalb School Board District 5 Candidates Forum

The Southwest DeKalb High PTSA and the South Lithonia Neighborhood Coalition co-host District 5 School Board candidates Thad Mayfield, Jay Cunningham, Pia Bhatti, R. Alexander Fitzhugh, and Vickie Turner at 7 p.m. CrossRoadsNews Editor/Publisher Jennifer Parker will moderate.

Candidates will present their platforms and visions for the DeKalb School System and answer questions from the moderator and the audience.
