Imam Plemon El-Amin will lead a discussion of “Children of Abraham: Judaism, Christianity, Islam” by F.E. Peters on Aug. 26 at Scott Candler Library.

The two-hour book talk is part of Let’s Talk About It: Muslim Journeys.

It begins at 6 p.m.

The discussion will look at Peters’ comparisons of holy scriptures, rituals, communities of believers, laws, theological systems, and traditions of mysticism in Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

El-Amin, the facilitator, is imam emeritus of the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam.

Let’s Talk About It: Muslim Journeys, a scholar-led reading and discussion series, has been made possible through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities in cooperation with the American Library Association. It is designed to foster opportunities for informed community conversations about the histories, faith and cultures of Muslims around the world and within the United States.

Local support is provided by the Georgia Humanities Council and One Region Atlanta. Call or visit the branch to register.

The library is at 1917 Candler Road in Decatur. For more information and to register, call 404-286-6986.
