1/31/2014, 6 a.m.

Children in low-income families will get preventive services, fillings and extractions at 14 free dental clinics hosted by the DeKalb Board of Health.

The clinics will be funded by a $10,000 grant from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation.

Most will be at the Kirkwood Health Center with some to be held at the Vinson Health Center.

Eligible children must come from families that meet the federal poverty guidelines, be are uninsured or underinsured, and have no ability to pay for dental care.

The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation’s mission is to improve access to dental care for the underserved. The funding was announced on Jan. 23.
