Touch-a-Truck on March 25 at East Lake MARTA station

3/17/2017, 6 a.m.

Children of all ages can touch, explore and see their favorite trucks or equipment on wheels at Decatur Active Living’s annual Touch-a-Truck event on March 25 at the East Lake MARTA station.

It takes place 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the North Lot on DeKalb Avenue and includes a food drive for National Nutrition Month.

The city of Decatur and DeKalb County dump trucks, fire trucks, tractors, police cars and motorcycles and many other types of vehicles will be on display.

City Schools of Decatur will have a school bus on-site and children can learn about school bus safety.

Participants can ride their bikes to the event to have them registered by the Decatur Police Department. All those who ride their bikes to Touch-a-Truck also will receive a special bike pin.

Canned or nonperishable food items are being collected for the Decatur Emergency Assistance Ministry.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for April 15. It is sponsored by the city of Decatur, MARTA and Two Men and a Truck. Parking is limited – taking MARTA or riding a bike is encouraged.
