Mary-Pat Hector will stay on the ballot for Stonecrest District 4 council race

Nineteen year-old Mary-Pat Hector will stay on the ballot for the March 21 election for the city of Stonecrest District 4 council seat. The nine-member DeKalb Board of Elections voted unanimously on Feb. 9 not to disqualify her, following a challenge from opponent George Turner that she was not old enough to run because the state sets the age to hold office at 21.
