Bethany Christian Social Services, a private adoption agency that has helped many area families adopt children from the state's foster care system, is hosting free seminars on Jan. 19 and Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Redan-Trotti Library in Stone Mountain.
Families who have adopted children will share their experiences. The library is at 1569 Wellborn Road, at the corner of Redan and Wellborn roads.
Bethany Christian Services works with area churches such as Green Pastures, New Birth Missionary Baptist and Chapel Hill Harvester to recruit adoptive families for hundreds of African-American children.
The agency is looking for African-American families to provide love, care, stability and commitment to children who have been abused and neglected. The children are all older than a year. Most have behavioral and emotional problems, and many have brothers and sisters eager to stay together.
