I understand why Mr. Jones would congratulate the South DeKalb commissioners for their support. In my opinion, commissioners representing South DeKalb are nothing more than puppets for the CEO. I do not believe that they will ever go against the will and pleasure of the CEO. In my opinion, each South DeKalb commissioner serves the desires of the CEO rather than the best interest of the citizens who elected them.
I was most surprised by Commissioner Hank Johnson's statement that the commissioners did not want to increase taxes for everyone.
That is, the South DeKalb commissioners did not want to roll back the millage rate to decrease the taxes for homeowners!
"We are trying not to pass on a tax to residents who are dealing with fuel costs of their own," Johnson said.
Wow! Is he for real?
This guy thinks that homeowners are not residents, who are also dealing with increased fuel costs and other costs of living. I believe that all residents of this county should share in feeding this administration's tax greed.
Wake up, Commissioner. Homeowners are the ones whose pockets you guys exploit for your every whim, like wasting money staffing a TV channel and hiring three new expensive journalists for ego trips rather than a need, and giving our money away to real estate brokers and agents.
I have concluded that the South DeKalb commissioners are like sheep; they simply go along to get along with their shepherd.
