Mothers and their sons can see the inspirational movie, "The Rookie," starring Dennis Quaid, together at a June 1 mother-son "Dinner and a Movie" evening at Clarkston First Baptist Church.

The 2002 movie tells the true story of Jimmy Morris, a Texas high-school baseball coach who tries out for the Major Leagues after his team made the playoffs. He fulfilled his dream years after an injury derailed his hopes.

The 7:30 p.m. screening includes a four-course meal which cost $20 for each mother-son couple. Tickets for additional children are $5.

Dawkins expects about 60 people to attend the event in the church's fellowship hall.

Clarkston First Baptist Church is at 3999 Church St. For more information, call 404-292-5686.
