In honor of Black History Month, the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus will showcase African-American paintings, music and dance at its annual Heritage Dinner on Feb. 17 at the Georgia Freight Depot in downtown Atlanta.

Activist, comedian and humanitarian Dick Gregory and state Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond will be the event’s featured speakers.

Kandi Burruss from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” also will be at the 6:30 p.m. dinner, which acknowledges community activists who work to improve and enhance communities of color across Georgia.

With 53 members from the state House and Senate, the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus is the largest legislative black caucus in the country.

Tickets to the dinner are $125. Proceeds support the GLBC’s Young Scholars Scholarship and Legislative Internship programs.

The Georgia Freight Depot is at 65 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. For more information, call 404-656-0502.
