Lithonia-based attorneys Kimberly G. Blackwell, Muna H. Claxton and Tegra Watkins, who founded the Free Law Clinic in March 2009, will offer sessions between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Claxton said they will address the legal needs of the community in which they practice and live.
Attorneys will answer questions about bankruptcy, home loan modifications, personal injury, employment and criminal law, and wills and probate matters.
Participants can expect to receive a free one-on-one consultation with an experienced practicing attorney who specializes in the area of law needed to address their legal needs.
Claxton said the Free Law Clinic will help make the legal community more accessible to the public.
“Many people are reluctant to seek legal assistance because they believe they cannot afford an attorney or they are intimidated by the process of retaining an attorney,” she said. “This event will allow participants to meet attorneys who practice in their community as well as provide much-needed legal assistance to those who cannot afford it.”
The South DeKalb Family YMCA is at 2565 Snapfinger Road in Decatur.
